What did immigrants(1900s)bring to our country? and 2 reasons they came to our country.?
Answer:
The reasons they came I can give you easy....
There was far more opportunity here in the US than their native lands (generally Europe). Eurpoe was still very much a class society. Where you were born is where you stayed. In the US, in theory, one could come as a poor immigrant and through work be anything they want.
Another reason would be relative freedom, especially persecution whether it be politically or religiously. Again, in theory, one can believe any ideaology or religion with freedom in the US, where as they would be persecuted in their home land.
The immigrants brought much to our land beyond the usual culture and language. For one they brought much needed labor, especially cheap labor. For example, the railroad across the US was made with immigrant labor, a majority of it Chinese. That is just one example, but you can expand it to city infrastructure as well.
Number one of course is to improve their own quality of life economically. The second reason would be most likely they were fleeing the persecution of their religion. This is all very similar to the reasons the pilgrims immigrated to this land. The 1900 immigrants of course brought with them new skills in many different trades such as jewelry, economics, carpentry, masonry, and this all helped to build the economy of the United States. They brought a diversity that is now being rivaled by the arrival of the indigenous people of Mexico.
