In the past 5 years, more than 2,000 people have died attempting to cross the border between Mexico into the United States. Over 320 people died last year alone. And one of the most treacherous and dangerous areas to cross is the Sonora desert that extends from Mexico's State of Sonora into the State of Arizona, west of Nogales.

Google it. I remember in some protest outside a House hearing this summer they were putting up between 2 and 3 thousand crosses to represent people who died, but I believe that was all known people, ever, not a specific time frame sample.
Then I have seen that 15 Americans are killed by illegals every day, one way and another. (It is on a Congressman's web page for one thing so I suppose it is verifiable.) I haven't researched this myself, but if true, they are killing a lot more than they sacrifice to the desert.
