Well, once they become citizens they will have to start paying taxes just like us, so that will take SOME of the burden off us. If this was happening about 80 years ago, white America wouldn't have stood for such non-sense as to giving these illegals amnesty. They would have deported each and every one of them.

No need to do that. When ALL the jobs in the US have been shipped to subsidiaries overseas to the cheapest worker (or prisoner) in the ENTIRE WORLD, then they won't be wanting to enter the US anymore. Don't waste the money on fences. They don't work anyway. Why blame a man for trying to work? We blame the poor because they are "lazy" and then we blame them because they want to work. Why don't we strive to create governments that see fit to "employ" people that want to work, instead of blowing 10 TRILLION on somebody else's "freedom"??? Why why whine whine .I know you want "free trade" for multinational corporations, but the poor worker is stuck inside the boundaries of one stinkin' country, because that's what god wants..?

I don't like illegal immigration, and think that all here illegally should be deported without ever being allowed legal entry. But I DO understand the political quandry - if they give free and legal amnesty, they stand to alienate millions of voters. If they create and pass a law that enforces the immigration laws, they stand to alienate the agricultural industry - the LARGEST industry in this nation. More than half of this nation's money comes from agriculture, not to mention they are a rather important and influential special interest group. So either way, the politicians lose in the end. And Bush (the idiot) is from a state that is rather dependent upon the business of agriculture and oil.
It is all a big mess. Personally, I think we are going to have to take a stand, and toughen the laws. Continuing to offer amnesty every 20 years or so will not solve the problem - it only compounds it. And if we keep on stepping back, we will soon be against the wall with no where to go. What then??
Yes skyhawk, you should make a citizens arrest and personally deport them back to Mexico, if thats where they happen to be from. How will you be sure who to make a citizens arrest on though? I guess whoever looks Mexican will be your best bet. If you cant find any Mexicans dont forget to try Chinatown. Can you make a citizens arrest? I thought they only did that in movies?
