Why were the two border patrol guys who apparently did something wrong sent to jail in one case for 20 Year! What in the world could they have done, out side of their jobs, to get a sentence of 20 years? Your thoughts incite here?

I think there is more than meets the eye and your question does not accurately represent the case. If you are talkimg about California, the police failed to follow their own rule, Special Order 40!
It isn't about the fact they may be illegal, it is about the issue of the police breaking their own law! Be careful about listening to the "Free Republic as they leave more out than they print. It is a red neck rag!

Two U.S. Border Patrol agents were sentenced to prison terms of 11 years and 12 years for shooting a drug-smuggling suspect in the buttocks as he fled across the U.S.-Mexico border.
U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso, Texas, sentenced Jose Alonso Compean to 12 years in prison and Ignacio Ramos to 11 years and one day despite a plea by their attorney for a new trial after three jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty in the case, the Washington Times reported.
As WorldNetDaily reported, a federal jury convicted Compean, 28, and Ramos, 37, in March after a two-week trial on charges of causing serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence and a civil rights violation.
They illegally shot a person! They had no idea he was illegal when they shot him, and shooting a person is criminal!
As much as you right wing people think the law only applies to other people, it just isn't so! You can't commit a crime and think you should get away with it. Being illegal is not a crime, it is a civil offense and these guys were like Cheney, they had no idea who they were shooting!

I heard about it yesterday. The ACLU are claiming discrimination. They are saying the Deputy should not have questioned the driver about the 14 other men in the back of his van. These men did not speak English and had no identification. However, according to the ACLU, his business was with the driver only, and he should have written his ticket and went on. What a load of crap! In this day and time you can't ignore something like that. What if they had been terrorists. I applaud the Deputy, he did the right thing. The ACLU can sue if they want, but they will loose.

The border patrol agents will be going to prison in about a week (11 years for one and 12 for the other) for DOING THEIR JOB. The bad guy is suing the USA and the good guys are going to prison. Seems kind of backwards to me.
At least they finally got Armando Garcia extradited from Mexico for killing a cop 5 YEARS AGO. I wonder if the ACLU will defend that scum bag.
It's getting insane with ACLU. These guys need to be stopped since they are bringing up cases that involve simply doing your job. They are funded by our tax dollars and apparently have a bottomless supply of money. Unfortunatly everyone else doesn't. There are many groups like this that just fight because they have the funds to back it knowing noone else does and tries to bankrupt towns etc. Where are they for REAL cases?

That's just wrong. That being said, while illegal immigrants do not have constitutional rights here in America, they do however have human rights, and that goes for anyone of any country, therefore if those rights were violated I would expect for the violator to be punished. Now, dont get me wrong, I dont know all the details of these cases myself but I do feel there should be a limit to how much justice you can appeal regardless of who you are. I mean if you are caught doing something illegal, you should not be able to sue the person who caught or aprehended you just because you got caught. Makes no sense to me.
The gov't should do background checks on all these bleeding heart organizations, and I bet they will come up with some very interesting things?????(each persons background and history)??

The ACLU is the terrorists of the United States. They are a Union that is only for criminals. Where are the rights of the victims? They continue to fight for rights for the criminals in jail, illegals who come to this country and commit crimes, and then throw it back into the victims face and say "They have rights too"! The Border Patrol Agents were doing their job and the ACLU wants to sue? I thought the ACLU was the "AMERICAN" civil liberties union, maybe it should be "ALL CRIMINAL LIBERTIES UNION" They are a disgrace to the US!
