English is a mandatory second language in most of the worl today. All over Europe, Japan, and yes, even in Russia.
Well, As much as I agree with your statement unfortuntaly I don't think illegals will. Don't even try to explain why we have laws/rights/repect cause in mexico no one follows them.
Most typical respones to this is "I sure would hate you to learn another language" when in fact that most states require a mandatory foriegn language class in order to get credit so you can pass high school.
It looks like you don't speak the language either. Maybe you need to go back to school. Better yet since you speak such good English why don't you volunteer your time and help them learn it. Instead of saying Mexicans and all others, why don't you say All Immigrants here in the US. I see people from Iraq waving their flags when Sadaam was hung. So whats the problem? They are representing their culture.

Yes, learn to speak English. If you don't want to do that then don't come here with your kids and expect our schools to educate them in Spanish or whatever. Also, Americans should not be using tax dollars to write laws and other government documents in any language other than English. This is too costly and is patently unfair to others who speak different languages and are not accomodated. We are suppose to be a country of fairness. This all is unfair. Speak English here.
Illegal alien criminals should go back where they belong - MEXICO. They DEMAND rights here. They DEMAND that we respect then but they don't respect us or our laws. They DEMAND that we fit into their culture. They DEMAND that we learn Spanish since they won't learn English.

Our country was built on freedom and that's what they are representing when they come here. But I do believe that everyone should know how to speak English. Free beneifits makes me mad, too. Born Americans work hard for all of this and for what? The Government to turn around and give the benefits we are supposed to get when we retire to people who who have been here all of one year. Seems unfair to me and probably why we have such a high national debt.
First, I'm not Hispanic or Mexican, but I read a lot of articles about unauthorized immigrants in US.
To be brief, one of the biggest problems is the fact that most of them are low skilled. Many didn't graduate from high school.
You can't expect somebody who didn't graduate from high school to behave like bachelor degree holders.
but they came to US to have a better life, just like the forefathers of those who are more fortunate now, or everybody else who came here as skilled workers.
I think it's morally wrong to take advantage or make fun of those who are less fortunate than we are, but that's what many people do. They take advantage of these unauthorized immigrants for the love of dollars.
Imagine, you are low skilled, become victim and many people look down on you, or even make fun of you, what would you do.
I think it's everybody's job to help solve the problem, especially the politicians who rake a lot of money.
It is easy to blame every body else and certainly not entertaining to make fun of those who are less fortunate .
I am not telling that you make fun of them. but I know a lot of people do.
So to make a long story short, I would say what they need is EDUCATION ,not HOSTILITY.
