If new citizens of USA and Canada were ask to fight against their country of origin, would they?

If they truly wanted to be part of this nation, they would fight against their own nation...many from this country who were citizens of another country and became citizens of this country went to war against their own countries...also others instead went with their country...so it depends.
Thats really really sad. I would have done the same thing u did.
They did during WW2, Japanese, German & Italian soldiers fought in the US army.
Some will do, some others will help their side without telling others, as they will be to scared of persecutions if they don`t comply...
But you can`t just forget where you come from, but if your old government is abusing your families and you know that what he is doing destroy your country of origin, then its understandable that they may accept to help their family members by fighting their own government forces.
We already did it was called the Revolutionary war with England.

Some will and some won't.It is hard to say waht would happen. I know allot of foriegn born people have fought wars on the US sideagainst the country of birth. I quess it all depends on how deep their roots are to either country.
