I just got out of the army and I have an opporotunity to get a dod job overseas. I cant find my birth certificate and I was wondering if i could use my social security card or dd 214 in place of it.
Answer:
You'll need your birth certificate. They're really easy to get duplicates of - just contact the county where you were born. It generally costs about $15 to get a certified copy of it, and it shouldn't take more than a week or so to get it. Good luck, and thanks for your military service!
Look you can obtain a birth certificate. Go to your local courthouse in the city where you were born. On file they have records and documents of birth certificates. There may be a fee of $5 to $10 to get this document. You must have your birth certificate to obtain a passport. When you obtain this document then you can do the necessary paperwork to obtain your passport.
