Should we reserve the right to revoke British citizenship for those who are third generation immigrants?
Answer:
Yo! hornets nest me thinks, and in answer to your question let me be the first yes just to balance things up
no
Anybody born in this country should be considered British. Not an immigrant, not an asylum seeker, not an economic migrant, but British. They will then have the same rights as everybody else, the right to be treated equally and with respect. People complain the foreigners show us no respect, but from I've been reading on here recently, we don;t show people much respect either.
No, they are not to blame for the problem.
No
If you are born here then you are British and should have the same rights as such. Does it matter if you can trace your history back one generation or fifty? I don't think so
This is a multicultural society pal
NO
As long as you offered them free Australian citizenship and a £100,000 grant, I'm sure they'd buy your idea. I know I would. 3rd generation "immigrant" myself - Grandfather fought at the Somme, Great Uncle died in a British Uniform in the Caucasus in 1919, Grandfather on my mother's side served in Royal Navy (submarine), father fought at El Alamein and in Malaya with Special Force 136, one his cousins drowned on board HMS Hood...
No No and no again.
Speaking as a person comming from a Polish immigrant background - third generation... my grandparents came here as refugees after WW2, my parents were born in this country, as was I and my brother.
I have a British birth certificate, and a British passport, and I have lived in England all of my life.
I have worked and paid my NI contributions and taxes since the age of 16 - I'm now 27.
Tell me why would you wish to revoke my citizenship?? When I was born here, and consider myself British??
yes we should keep the right of revoke.
Spartak, why just up to the 3rd generation? Why not the 5th or 6th?
There was another chap with similar idea in the past: Adolf Hitler.
