2. If we really do need day workers, why not send all of the illegals (or as many as we can catch) home because they are breaking our laws and let more of the people in to do the work who have been in line patiently waiting their turn.
3. Why not just have one police department that is good all over instead of so many different agencies that can only do work in one jurisdiction, i.e., let all police departments capture and deal with all criminals (no waiting for the Border Patrol).

We need more ideas on how to handle this huge problem.
I like the one many here have stated about taking the illegals and giving them citizenship if they serve four years in the Military fighting for the USA.
It will take many dollars to train them and teach them English but it is far less than the Government spends now on all the benefits they are given.
Plus lets add your comments too and then we are actually taking a Proactive way to help stop immigration. Sitting on our hands does nothing.

Problem is not lack of ideas. A lot of people have ideas. Politicians also. Problem is to enforce them.
Bleeding heart liberals will screw things up.
1. It won't work because this doesn't benefit the employee in the long run. They'd be unemployed after their trip. They didn't come here to bust employers and win free trips; they came here to work.
2. Bad idea. Illegals will work for less than minimum wage. It's a simple economic fact: When employers and employees willingly negotiate a wage, the law has little relevance and will be ignored. If you kick out all of the people willing to work for less than minimum wage, the people who patiently waited "their turn" (as prescribed by those who hand out rights and take them away) will have lost their bargaining power because they have become citizens. They would then have to compete with the general population on an artificially uneven playing field (as prescribed by minimum wage law, which perpetuates discrimination), which is what neither the employer nor the employee desires.
3. Who's going to pay for this massive police force? It will end up like the war on drugs: A massive money pit with the hopeless mission of trying to control the desires of consenting individuals.
Regarding your final comment: You're right, it only works for you because it only benefits you.
