I'm an Englishman living in Japan at the moment but I would like to spend a couple of years in America if possible. I was just wondering if anyone knew what types of work are available for a foreigner (I have an art based degree and a teaching qualification) and how easy it is to emigrate there.
Answer:
Assuming you don't want to invest in a sombrero, and endure a long, potentitally tragic/fatal hike in the desert, I suggest you put on some fancy clothes and wander into the nearest US embassy. The consular officials are usually quite nice will guide you through the process. There are alot of teaching position available in the US, but i doubt they are activily recruiting foreigners for these positions. This is sad because I am sure you would do a better job speaking/teaching English than the locals. But don't give up, try the embassy first. Best of luck!
