How do I locate someone who was transferred on a INS hold?
Answer:
Your brother may have been transferred to a state facility since many jails do not handle long-term inmates. You can check the Oregon VINE page and see if he shows up in the system. If your brother was not transferred to another prison for his criminal sentence, and if he was eligible for removal (deportation), then the prison would turn him over to ICE for removal and they would take him into custody. You can check the Federal Bureau of Prisons prisoner locator to see if he shows up in a federal prison (where some immigration detainees are housed). You can also call the ICE Detention and Removal office with jurisdiction over Oregon and ask for the agent who handled your brother's case. The agent should be able to fill you in. For Oregon, the ICE D&R office is:
Field Office Director, Seattle
1000 2nd Avenue, Suite 2650
Seattle, WA 98104
Phone: 206-553-4147
. Then you'll never see him again.. possible front lines,(IRAN) maybe.. Simple. INS deportation status, Unless he has a hold else-ware
Well if he was transferred to prison to serve his 7 year sentence , I doubt they took him anywhere before he served his time . He is probably in the state pen ( or they summarily executed him without anyone knowing).
