Of course the government lacks the will, why else would
only two miles of the fence been built. They thought that
they would sneak the immigration (aka Amnesty) bill
under our noses so there would be no need for the fence.
But the American people shouted from the roof tops, we
need to keep yelling to get the Fence built.
By the way, the vote count is a lot higher now (about 4800 votes)

I wonder where these numbers were collected, or what representative group was interviewed. In any case, it makes sense for Americans to want border security, for many reasons, primarily to filter out terrorists.
A more interesting question would be to ask the 96% why they believe the government lacks that will, in other words, what is stopping them from doing anything about it. The lack of an intelligent response to that question would be a lot more telling than the raw poll data.
I tend to agree with the 96%. I do not believe our politicians have the political will to do it. I also KNOW that a LARGE majority of the American people desire that the govt enforce the border.
Why do you think that the poll numbers for EVERY politicians who supported the amnesty bill are at record lows?

I don't trust polls, and I hardly understand what the poll was asking. But the government doesn't have the manpower to enforce current law even if they wanted to.

Yeah, I saw an LA times article last night with a 'quick vote' poll in it. The theme of the article was that those opposed to the putrid Senate immigration bill were a 'vocal minority'. However, when you ran their own quick poll it was 69% against the bill 30% for the bill.
I wonder if they ever read their poll, themselves?
