Why are our local police not allowed to stop all of this illegal immigration?
Answer:
It's called passing the buck, the federal government has the duty of enforcing our immigration law, and if they want they can deputized local authorizes, but the real powers, those in DC do not want to offend their business donors
Liberal mayers and thier toadies, the chiefs of police.
That's a good question that someone needs to ask our lawmakers and those who work in DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement!
Nope its not the cops job to do things like that with immigrants its the irs or somethin like that job. but just let them try to make a living since they came here risking there lives to make sure their family wont starve to death. WOULDN'T YOU DO THE SAME HUH?
Without help from the federal government it is pretty much left up to local government. If Dallas PD is not arresting Illegals then its because someone in local Dallas politics told them so. I would contact the mayor's office and tell all your friends to call as well.
Sheriffs in border counties are enforcing immigration laws. And most of what is said in these questions are wrong. Has nothing to do with mayors, chief of police or irs. Its up to border patrol and customs to enforce these laws, and its up to law makers allowing locals to enforce the law.
Sanctuary cities, like Denver.
VAGO - You are dead wrong, it may be up to ICE and the Border Patrol to enforce the laws, but locally, the local police, sheriffs are not enforcing the laws because they are told by the Mayors office not to.
local police officers are restricted to enforcing local laws, only federal officers can enforce federal laws.
I believe that locals can be made legal in the detainment of illegal aliens.
