Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .
Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.
After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.

totally ignorant imo .... the solution is to turn to alternate bio-fuels and cut reliance on foreign oil almost completely out .. we have the technology, the capacity, and the infrastructure to make it happen .... and it would solve many problems in one fell swoop ... but as always ... lets just blame the illegals and kid ourselves into thinking it will make one more dollar appear in our wallets or cause our prices for one thing to change ...

There are lots of people of all decents who are in the military. Your idea is stupid. Why don't we quit using other countries for oil and come up with our own solution. My family owned business is in the logging, off-shore oil platforms, and mining equipment. It's our government who causes their own problems with oil.
