Arellano, who has remained in a church on the Northwest side since August 15 to avoid an order of deportation, said this would be the deadline the government will have to "revive and pass a comprehensive immigration reform.” Otherwise, pro-immigrant organizers will begin a campaign “aimed at bringing this government and this economy to a halt.”
"The Freedom Folks -- Minutemen in the Chicago area" need to attend a midnight service at the church and worship with Elvira. Maybe they could invite her to go out for a bite after the service.
Elvira Arellano's used every trick in the book. She had a child here as an "anchor baby". She played the "my son is sick with ADHD" trick to gain sympathy from politicians, the church and other sympathetic illegal alien supporters. Now she's attempting to be a martyr of the illegal alien cause by fleeing to the Adalberto United Methodist Church and openly daring authorities to drag her away. She took her son with her, thus showing she has absolutely no caring about the torment she could potentially cause him by her actions and that he is just a tool to be used for her goals. By fleeing her deportation hearing Elvira Arellano is now considered a fugitive from justice.

However, Chertoff might well send ICE to that church next, just in hopes 'the public' will beg him not to, and will let Bush pass his bill.
We can always hope.
The Senate Bill would have let felons like her, for fake social security cards in a secure area, convicted of social security fraud, with a deportation order issued against her, and a fugitive still be legalized.

I would have him deemed a threat to national security and seize from the church. Hiding in a church does not prevent the law from being enforced.
This is not a surprise. It is because we let it happen. Surround the church do let food or water in and when she comes out deport that piece of crap. It looks like this congress is weak once again. They are lucky Americans are not in charge and I mean real Americans not politicians. If the cockroaches want to march we should just have I.C.E. waiting for them.
Sounds to me like July 17th would be a real good time to surround DC with border patrol and ship several thousand of them back where they came from! Of course with our government not only not stopping them but encouraging them to jump the fence, I don't expect any action but to have the DC police actually beat up people who protest them.
Why in the hell do cops give a pass to religious people? Get in there and haul that hag out, dammit! Reminds me of the Catholic scandal a few years back, the cops were waiting for the word to come down from the slobbering, incoherent pope before they made their next move.
