I wouldn't mind one bit. I know many of them like to spend time in the winter down here in Florida where I live. And they always struck me as being polite friendly people. I certainly never hear about them committing rape, robbery and murder like I do about many aliens from some other places. Nor do they come here illegally and attempt to live off of our government hand outs like so many do.

It depends on your political perspective. Canadians tend to be more socialist than Americans, and our Congress tends to be rather evenly balanced between Democrats and Republicans. Adding Canadian Congressmen would probably result in a significant shift to the Left (i.e., in favor of the Democrats).

The last I knew, those western provinces had the resources and folks out there weren't real real happy with their government's poverty of attitude about returning much in the way of infrastructure for what they took. Times may have changed. Annexation could be too much of a culture shock for them anyway. Expectations vary.
