After marriage and when applying to get you legalized in the US, your American wife is required to sign an affidavit of support - basically stating that she has enough money to support you and that she will support you so that you don't have to go on welfare.
You also must be a US citizen or permanent resident to claim benefits. It will take a few years for you to even get permanent residency, and most states require that you wait another 5 years after that before you can claim benefits. Also, since your wife signed an affidavit of support, if you are able to claim benefits, the government can sue your wife for that money.
