Crossing the border?
Answer:
Hi
I would really check this one out before you try as there are conflicting answers, my experience is on the Mexican Borders but my problem could be replicated for you on the Canadian one.
This is the problem, if you enter Canada directly you will not have a USA 3 month Visa Waiver stamped into your Passport. When you attempt to enter the USA over the canadian border they will tell you that you have to enter through an official Port of Entry, through A major airport or Shipping Port and they will not let you in, (not by the hair of their chinny chin chins).
If you enter the USA first by Air, go through immigration get your 3 month I94 Visa Waiver, you can go accross to Canada and come back with no problems as you already have the Visa Waiver and it is still Valid (unexpired)
I once went to Mexico and they would not let me in on a UK passport they said I would Have to Fly into a US airport First as they did not issue 90 day visa waivers at that entry point (Tijuanna near San Diego)
Good luck don'y rely on an answer here if you really must enter the USA speak to USA immigration.
Good Luck
No, it is not. If you're not properly documented, you will not get in.
You won't have any problems with an Irish passport.
