I was offered a job in Aus and I applied for a 457 Visa (long stay). Will my wife be able to work as well?

Or do I have to apply seperately for her? She does not want to start right away but will do so after the house, schools ect have been sorted.

Answer:
I'm not sure. It very much depends on her Visa.
If she's a tourist/pouse- she may not.
If she has her own equivalent 457- as far as I can recall she is allowed up to 20 hours total work per week (that may have changed since I was last there).
If you apply with a Joing application form yes, otherwise is only good for you.
well i am a girl so i would know and if she was a pretty girl than no but if she was really strong than yes.
yes she gets ur dependant visa once you get ur extension. So not a problem. Send her paper work with ur when u doing ur extension. She will get the dependant papers as well.
After that she can work full time.
She needs to apply also. You think sinse you got a 457 visa, that your whole family can work there.Take your cousins, your aunt and uncle, grandma, and grandpa.and anyone else you call family and go to work.
you dont say your wifs problem. so it couid be hard to answer properly.
