If you over stayed your visa and..?
sometimes you get in anyways (i know because i know lots of people that did it), but what is the worst senario. do they deny the entry of the person for 10 yrs or for ever??
Answer:
In most american cities, if you do overstay your visa, the local law enforcement will for the most part completely ignore you unless you commit some violation or crime that will require them to ask for identification. That is the only way they will find out you are in the country illegally, and they may contact immigration. However there are some larger American cities (San Francisco comes to mind) where the city government has instructed the police to ignore any immigration violations unless a felony is commited.
That being said, if you do intentionally overstay and are caught, you will be taken to a illegal alien detention center, where you will appear in court before a immigration judge who will decide your fate. If they decide you made a mistake, they may send you home with a slap on the wrist and the admonishment to pay more attention to details. If they decide you did it on purpose, you could be deported and denied access to the US for up to 10 years.
I heard 10 years .
I believe the first time they deport you. The second time is where the 10 year entry becomes active
most enter illegally...
the one who follow the rules always pay the price...even for a small mistake of staying few extra days.
You try make sense of some of our laws...
Umm..if yr visa has expired, it's real a big deal, cuz u might be rejected and will be sent back home. I think u have to pay for yr flight as well. And next time u try and go back in, they might not let u or u can have hard time getting through. <<worst case...
if it's u who's visa is expired and yr children are under yr custoody then they'll have to go back with u. Not for ever but they won't give u visa from then on nicely. it'll be harder. u can go back to us and then get visa as well but, that's what happens in worst case.
