Does anyone else get a tear in there eye when they hear the Star Spangled Banner ? I do ,God Bless America?
Answer:
God Bless America!
I recall shortly after the 9/11 attack, I was riding my bicycle past our local community college where a football game was about to start. Over the loudspeaker, I heard a two minute prayer to God for the safety of our people and of our troops who would be responding. I stopped my bike and had to listen. I was astonished and delighted at this show of patriotism and faith, the sort that the ACLU tries to eradicate from America.
- A Proud American
God Bless America
I do because the US stands for injustice now, thanks to Bush
and god cannot possibly be on US side when it has caused so much death and destruction in Iraq/ world
'god' bless the world, and those around you
Always...always...I lost my dad to vietnam...our lives were never the same and never will be, he died on nov. 17,,,that is always a tough day, no matter how many days pass...his friend, who was also a hellicopter pilot, said he was with hiim when he died and his last words were God Bless America...
We are still in touch with this CW2 and he is like a member of our family...so do I tear up?....YOU BET!!!!
not so much the star spangled banner more so amazing grace or america the beautiful
I do and I'm not American but I think your Star Spangled Banner is absolutely FANTASTIC
Yes, a tear...for all I fought for and all there is to still win.
Sure do. I can't help but wonder what could've been. God bless the CSA!
Yes, because it's beautiful. It touches my heart all our country has gone thru and what our people (meaning all of the people of the United States) continue t go thru. We need to fix our country first before we go and try to tell others how to live. We have children who need families, we have families who need homes, jobs, food our government has dropped the ball at home.
Specially in Christmas or any other holiday and you are in the jungles of Vietnam fighting for your country.
Yes. So do people in other countries when they hear that countries anthem. The US is not unique in that regard.
Yes, to know that there are people defending our way of life. To think of what this country has been through. To know that we live in the most blessed country in the world. Yes, I get teary-eyed. But take a class or two in US history. Look into what Americans have REALLY done. If you aren't white, you get the short end of the stick (often the blunt end as well). The same time I feel pride and thankfulness, I feel shame that I live in a country that was built on stealing land, killing people who don't look like you and taking advantage of the poor. Sorry to put a downer on your joy, but educate yourself in Multicultural America. You'll no doubt find it embarrassing to know what we've done to other people throughout history.
Yes , and the hair stands up on my arm and I get goosebumps
I love the Star Spangled Banner and America.God bless America! ,and God bless those who gave their all for her!
I ALWAYS get a bit choked up when I hear the song. No matter what issues I have with my country and its government, I still think this is the greatest country on earth!
I don't get teary eyed, but I feel a great amount of pride in my country. It makes me sad to see a country, where thousands of people have died to defend it, is being ruined by citizens and other people around the world because of jealousy or hate.
Only when Rosanne Barr sings it...
And when you post it on the Immigration forum, you've just made it look like a fool's play. Shame on you.
yes, i do. but...i don't chant to myself "we will win!" in an evilish way at the end, no.
no......and my dad was a veteran.............oh_hell
Actually I can love America all I want but I never did like the Star Spangled Banner, even as a child I would try to get to an event after they were done with it,even my own little league games when I was on the team I was always late but it was always over by the time I got there. I'm not even sure why but that song just annoys me,we need a new national anthem.

Oh yes its always been a song that causes cold chills and my eyes water at the sound of it and the deep meaning it holds for me and other loyal Americans. Its like seeing the flag and knowing all the brave men and women that have died to keep it flying and to keep America free .I love this nation and I love all the legal Americans of all races, colors, nationalities or place of origin. We are all Americans.
I am so very grateful for having been born in the best nation in the world.
