Why is it that illegal alien's are getting free hospital visits?
I took my wife to the hospital She signed in an had to wait for 3 hr's......to see a doctor...When a couple come in that were illegally in the usa......They couldnt speak english an had no insurc. They just came in the hospital an went right in an saw a doctor ....They didnt sign in or give any insurc.. info. When we got the bill we got charged double....We even got charged for some thing she didnt receive......
P.S I know will prob. get reported because my Question has illegal aliens in it .....But just wanted to know why

Because many states have laws that state hospitals must take care of the indigent. ALL illegals are indigent so they get free care. In order for the hospitals to ensure that they get their money they have to over charge the rest of us. Sad but it is the truth. Look at all the hospitals in the border states that are going under because they are over populated with people who cannot pay thier bills, illegal or not.
They get free medical. free loans to start a business. free housing. free food. why wouldnt you climb a fence?

Get good insurance, go to a good hospital, then this wont be an issue.

"Free" hospital care??? NO!!!!! It is NOT "free"!!!! Every TAX PAYING American citizen PAYS for these ILLEGALS!!!!!!!! Because illegals NEVER pay, these costs gets PASSED ON to every person that pays taxes!!!
So. YES, we ALL pay for these DEADBEATS!!! This also cause OUR medical insurance rates to be higher,our hospital costs to increase, and the ambulance costs to rise!!
They know our laws better than some of you do!!! We have a federal law here in the U.S. called EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act) which was passed in 1986, was INTENDED to help OUR citizens that had no insurance, but need emergency medical care!!!!
The ILLEGALS have been using this law to THEIR advantage, ever since!!!!!! They have run up MILLIONS of dollars in medical expenses just in MY state alone!!!!!
Because if they didn't, there would be reprisals from the ACLU and the Latino race hustlers, and 'god forbid' we can't have that.
There is abuse and there's no doubt about it. I don't know every detail about every situation but most hospitals triage and take the worst first. Even if you get taken back....it doesn't mean you won't be left sitting while others are taken ahead of you. I worked for Dr's offices and sometimes we'd have to send patients directly to the ER and since we called in ahead...they were taken right in to a room and their info was already gotten over the phone. Sometimes they just enter through the ER to go for x-rays or ultra-sound imaging or blood tests and aren't there for emergency care.
Consider yourself lucky it was only 3 hrs. I've sat for 8. The only time I was taken right in was when I was pregnant and the hospital already had the info.....and when I was in a serious car accident. In between where does it hurt....someone was getting my personal info. They even followed and asked questions on the way to x-ray. If they don't nail you on the way in.....they get you comming out.
But you're right about the charges. Those of us who pay do get charged un-real prices. It was like 1,500. for my husband when he went in for a tooth. He was so swollen and in agony. He got a shot of antibiotics and a shot for pain and a script for more antibiotics and pain. Insurance gets charged alot too, but that doesn't mean they pay it all. Those of us who pay cash get the worst deal in my opinion. They have to make up the prices somehow. It's not uncommon to be charged for things not received. That's why you have to check your bill.
So many people in the ER aren't really emergencies. Yes...serious, but not life threatning. Alot use the ER as their primary care and that's when it's abuse. They have alot of programs in which you have to go to certain Dr.s. Problem is....they are so booked up you can never get in and then they tell you to go to the ER. But then that insurance says it doesn't qualify as an emergency and you end up paying for it even when you have insurance. It's messed-up and ripe for abuse. If the abuse isn't controlled and alot of the freebies given we aren't going to have many hospitals left who have to take you. I mean make them pay something. Nothing should be 100% free when you aren't a citizen especially since many could afford to pay something. I mean they have payment programs.
Perhaps because we have a retarded Welfare/ Medi-Cal system in which we cant seem to implement some type of system where we could separate legit ss#s for the real ones and perhaps, (and I know this is far fetched) deny illegal immigrants benefits instead of complaining that they outsmarted the system. We can send a man to the moon and beyond, yet we cannot figure out a solution to illegal immigration. Your complaint at your hospital bill and unwarranted charges has nothing to do with illegal immigrants, nice try though.
