"Thirty people were arrested on suspicion of being illegal immigrants during the Dec. 5 raid of Plasterglas Inc.
Now, Donna Lake, 45, is facing up to 10 years in prison after federal agents allegedly recorded a suspicious conversation between her and an illegal immigrant who worked at the company.
During the taped conversation, the worker-turned-government informant allegedly asks Lake to change his work identity for the second time.
Lake allegedly asked whether the worker was afraid of being deported, then told the worker she would ignore their conversation.
The government is accusing Lake of inducing an illegal immigrant to enter or reside in the country in reckless disregard of the law. She could also be fined $250,000.
A hearing is scheduled on Friday."

about time but i think that if that kind of thing was a common policy at her company her employers should be facing the same charges !
That should happen more often.
She shouldn't be the only one....maybe they ARE going to do something!!!
I think more emphasis and attention, not to mention consequenses should be placed on the fact that there are Americans out there hiring illegal immigrants and renting to them as well. Why would someone risk their lives, coming to a country where they are not wanted if they knew there would be no jobs or homes for them here? Nobody would want to. The point is that they know there will always be ways to make a living here, take that away and you take away their reason for coming.
It should extend to our politicians as well. Mayors and city councils of sanctuary cities are inducing illegal immigrants to reside in the country by announcing to the world that they will NOT cooperate with federal authorities. This would apply to president Bush who signed an agreement with Mexico in 2004 that WHEN illegal Mexicans were granted amnesty (notice he did not say if) they would be granted Social Security benefits. It takes an American citizen 10 years to qualify but amnestied Mexicans would be eligible in 18 months. Now isn't that saying come to America, we will grant you amnesty and GIVE you benefits that our citizens paid for. If that is not an inducement I don't know what is.
Everywhere you look OUR Government is offering inducements to come here illegally. Free medical, free food, free education, subsidized housing, look the other way policies, prosecuting Border Patrol agents for doing their jobs. You don't have to dig very deep to find absolutely a myriad of outrageous policies.
It is our leaders in government that need to go to jail
it's great. they need to do it to anyone who hires illegals.
