Not to misunderstand - I am not for anyone ripping up the environment. But I also am not for our country having invisible borders that have no meaning either.
With the millions of people passing illegally on those very same areas, the groups own studies have shown the negative effect that such has.
Call it 'choosing the lesser of two evils' if you will. But something has to be done to hinder the flood of illegals coming over the border. Be it a fence, armed guards, whatever it takes - something has to be done.

I'm for the 700 mile fence it's a good idea, wish it was 2000 miles long...
I wish that fence was like the border of L.A to the mainland in the movie "Escape From L.A.". I rather doubt that they would cross over it.
To me, the need to curtail the flood of illegal immigrants supercedes the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of a few deer and javalina. If the Defenders of Wildlife want to collectively pick up the tab for every illegal that crosses the border from Mexico, then so be it. But until then they need to pipe down.
Useless information! Does anybody really believe that A) - there is really going to be a fence built on our southern border - and - B) - if there was a fence, it would really stop illegals from entering the U.S.?
Here is a flash for y'all.....there ainta gonna be a fence. That was a fairy tale put out for the benefit of all the dummies who buy everything the government shoves down their throats....to "keep 'em quiet", if you will.
There will be an amnesty program for those already here and a guest worker program for those who wish to come and work. There will be more border guards, those gun-totin' idiots in camoflage known as the "militia" will crawl back under their rocks.
This whole "illegal immigration" nonsense is a smoke screen perpetrated by the Republicans and those in Washington to divert our attention from the real problems facing our country.

Its a responsible attitude to take, as long as it doesn't go the way of a game of Chinese Whispers (or whatever its called in the USA - I grew up in Scotland). Its one thing to consider the environmental aspects of building the fence. I believe ranchers are concerned about irrigation as rivers will have to be diverted in places.
It would be quite another matter for us to consider all the environmental aspects and forget about building the wall, or watering down the (already-passed?) legislation that it becomes unrecognizable.
If you ask me gun posts would be far more efficient. As cruel as that sounds we have to give illegal immigrants a reason not to try and cross. Death seems as good a modifier and any and its it perfectly legal. All kidding aside there needs to be something done on this issue. If any of the liberal had any idea of the long term impact of the self-righteous crap they are pulling they would do it. We also need a more efficient way than just deporting them as our current method costs too much. Anyone that says we need their low cost labor obviously knows nothing of economics. A good example would be Mexico as it is full of low wage labor and yet isn't an economic powerhouse. The only reason why Mexico is still surviving is because their biggest source of income is the people who come into our country and send money back home while using our social programs. That makes Mexico and her people by definition parasites. Of course these are the same idiots that want to try the same failing health care system as Canada. I think that we need to build a fence not unlike the iron curtain. The only difference is that this will keep out instead of in. Kind of like the difference between a gated community and a prison.
Hmmm...WHY can't the animals stay put? What would that hurt? As if they don't have enough room to roam. They wouldn't be up in arms about ranchers using fences...what is different?
These United States NEEDS to protect itself from foreign invaders, END OF STORY! And one way to do this is by border fences. They need to wake up while there is still time!
That fence only appeases people who tend to be xenophobic to begin with. It will hardly be effective, it will become a symbol as powerful as Belin's famous wall.
I think the fence will never be built and I am happy about that because it would be a huge waste of money. A border fence will not stop illegal immigration.
Imagine that?!?!?!?! The good of wildlife and plants come before the American people. I do not think the fence will solve the problem, but I believe it is a step in the right direction. When is the government going to do what is right for the people of the United States and not listen to groups like Defenders of Wildlife and The Sierra Club? When are they going to close our boarders to illegal aliens who trash our land, bring disease and leach off our people? WHEN are they going to protect the people of the United States and our way of life?
