Social security number or card, taking a lot of time!?

Hi, does anybody know how much time does it take to arrive to a first timer a SS card or even better, after how long can i go and request my ssn if my card hasnt arrived?

You can certainly contact the SSA to find out what is taking so long to get a SSN.

If you are a legal immigrant in the US and just applied for an SSN using a valid visa, your immigration status will first have to be verified with DHS before they will issue a SSN and this can take months.
