First of all, your question isn't related to Immigration. Second, you should be more tolerant or open to other people's religion and maybe do a bit more research before you begin to judge everybody.

I asked this question to a friend of mine from India. She explained to me that cows are worshipped because they are producers of milk and almost every living thing gets it's start on this earth from milk. Also they are gentle creatures who do no harm to anyone. Hope that works for you.

It's a good system: the poor use/sell the milk, dung is used for fuel, males (bullocks) are the tractors of India. The lowest class in India eats the beef when the cow dies. By allowing the cows to roam free the entire population benefits.
