Why do communities that have had the most illegal immigrant raids, have had immediate economic growth?

One good example, is in Stillmore, Georgia, whre in August 2006, a chicken plant was raided by INS and ICE teams. The local stores, that were owned by American citizens, had an immediate 30% rise in business and at least a 75% rise in sales and profits. Most of the people that lived in homeless shelters and halfway houses were employed. Even some of the local prisons were allowed to let prisoners work, making it possible for some to send money home rather than their families being totally dependent on public assistance. Yes, there were some that quit or could not do the work. Some jobs were as low as $6.00 an hour, but there are also incentives like duration pay and bonuses for those that are there for an extended period of time. This is only one example, where getting rid of illegal aliens will help the local and national economies.

Answer:
Because we don't need illegal aliens like they say we do. If they are deported, we will not only survive, but things will actually get better.
Nope-sure don't. Where is Stillmore anyway? lol...
Sure it helps the economy. They are able to give jobs to the people that deserve them. All these jobs that the pro-illegal crowd claim were given to "Americans that didn't want."
The recent Swift meatpacking raid is another example of "PIA" (post illegal America.) Once the endless low wage labor was cut off, Swift had to pay more per hour. Not the 22 dollars per hour pre "PIA" but heading up. With the Georgia supreme court ID ruling today, we are on the way to a true PIA america.
excuse me, but you've taken an isolated incident and generalized an economic trend. this is incorrect. and too, this article leaves out many facets of the situation in stillmore. indeed this reporter has stretched the truth here in more ways than one. maybe need to dig deeper before forming an opinion.

stillemore has become a virtual ghost town. yes one business did report an increase in business, a gas station. most replacement workers are presently being bused in, refueling at the gas station. other businesses are not so lucky.

the article says "Most of the people that lived in homeless shelters and halfway houses were employed." that is just untrue as there were no homeless shelters and halfway houses in stillemore; stillemore is a town of 740 citizens as of 2003 census. the shelter is located in atlanta, they sent 15 workers.

the article says "some that quit or could not do the work." the actual report is that 50% of replacement workers have been terminated because they would not do the work; many applicants fail drug testing and are not hired. a company that needs a workforce of 1000 is currently operating with 450 workers. much of the work has been outsourced to other states resulting in a net loss to the county and the state of georgia.
