Indirectly. They can withdraw there sponsorship. If the person being sponsored can't make alternate arrangements then they will have to leave the country. That happened to someone I know.

assuming you're talking about an h-1b visa or similar, they're attached to your sponsor, in other words if you lose the job you're given 90 days (at least used to be) to find another job or go back to your country. However a lot of companies are lax and will not report you to BCIS (old INS) meaning you may have additional time. immigration laws are very dynamic so I'd advise talking to an immigration attorney to make sure you do not overstay or lose legal status. Bureaucrats hate people who don't follow red tape correctly.....
