In Colorado, Medicaid pays for 6,000 births for a total of $30 million annually. In 2002, California paid $79 million for births, Texas $74 million, Arizona $31 million and New Mexico $6 million. Small hospitals can be overwhelmed. Copper Queen Hospital in Bisbee, Ariz., spent $200,000 out of its $300,000 operating budget on illegal immigrants.
But as much as I sympathize with them, I must ask: How many more can we treat in our emergency rooms? When will the taxpayer say, "Enough!"? And when, if ever, should we expect the Mexican government to bear some responsibility for its citizens?...

EACH ILLEGAL COSTS THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER $20K
AND THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE 10K THEY MAKE ILLEGALLY WHILE HERE. IT TAKES 30K TO SUSTAIN ONESELF HERE...(USE OF PUBLIC SERVICES...HIGHWAYS, SCHOOLS, ETC...) NOT TO MENTION THE EXTRA SERVICES ONE ON LIMITED MONIES RECEIVES SUCH AS WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS AND OTHER AID. MOST KIDS LIVING ON THE MEXICAN SIDE OF THE BORDER WILL ACTUALLY BE BROUGHT TO OUR SIDE IN THE MORNING TO ATTEND OUR SCHOOLS AT TAXPAYERS EXPENSE. THEY RECEIVE FREE LUNCH AND WE CAN'T EVEN ASK IF THEY'VE HAD THEIR SHOTS. WE EXPOSE OUR KIDS TO AL SORTS OF DISEASES NOW AND OUR GOVT DOESN'T EVEN CARE
No they would not pick your bill up, but they would pick you up and put you out on the streets.
I know what you mean. I work in insurance and the state might pick up some legal woman's tab depending on her income, but it doesn't always happen. Theres been a few circumstances where the women had to make "monthly payments" on her bill.
You will not find an illegal doing that though. The government better get ready to hand out a bunch of medical cards.
Hospitals on the border can tell you horror stories.
EDIT: I was reading Mexico's laws someone posted below me and what they basically say if your not a citizen your screwed! The country does/would not consider helping anyone else out...that would be a "burden." What a double standard.

No, and if you were there illegally they could under their laws imprison you before deporting you. If you didn't have the money with you to pay for the hospital, they would consider that a violation of their law and still imprison and/or deport you.

foreign visitors and immigrants are:

• have the means to sustain themselves economically;
• not destined to be burdens on society;
• of economic and social benefit to society;
• of good character and have no criminal records; and
• contributors to the general well-being of the nation.
The law also ensures that:
• immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
• foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
• foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;
• foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
• foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
• those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
We need to enact these laws and enforce them.
Then our hospitals will not be overburdened by the cost of the illegals health care.
Mexico would probably put you and your baby in prison. Sometime it takes what is known as a "act of Congress' to get a American citizen out of Mexico, and with the way Congress is acting, you and your baby would probably never get out of Mexico, since your Americans. And I agree with every since word you said, and this is just one small example of how the ILLEGALS are bankrupting the US, taking what they have NEVER put one penny into. Mexico is not going to assume the responsibility of their own citizens, they give out pamphlets to show them how to cross and get here, and what to do after they are here.

Mexico doesn't even take care of their own people, they certainly will not take care of Americans. The Mexican Govt encourages illegal immigration so that the US picks up the tab for healthcare for their citizens. I mean, they pop out babies like there's no tomorrow! Heck, why not? It's 100% free to have babies at the hospital, it's 100% free to send them to school and overcrowd the classrooms, and 100% breakfast and lunch at school. They are greedy and selfish.

Penalize employers who hire illegal aliens! These businesses should be closed down for good. They are breaking the law.
No more anchor babies for the illegals! (If illegals give birth in the US, their babies should not be given US citizenship). Kick them out with their parents!

IF you are worried about it, don't go into labor again.you have two kids, THAT'S ENOUGH! That way you need not be disappointed if the MEXICAN GOV. tells you, "YOU ARE LIVING ON OUR LAND,stolen by your ancestors, NOW YOU WANT US TO PAY FOR YOUR LABOR!?" "REQUEST DENIED!"
