Can anyone tell me how is the Asylum interview I-589 in US from his/her experience?
Answer:
In order to qualify for asylum, you must be able to establish that you are a refugee, unable to return to your own country due to fear of persecution on one or more of the following grounds:
Race, religion, nationality, membership affiliation, or political views.
Unfortunately, many people, who are essentially economic migrants, use the asylum program to by-pass US immigration laws and quotas. Such abuse makes it more difficult for truly persecuted people to seek and be granted asylum.
depends on your claim of asylum. If truthful and you have sufficient evidence, no problem. If frivolous, then it better be a good story, but know that the interviewing officer has to be able to give a legal reason to grant your request or it's his A** and they ain't gona put it on the line for you.
