Well i cant comment on what it takes in the States,but clearly in Canada to be an Immigration officer you must be a bleeding hearted liberal that's politically correct and have resentment towards white English speaking skilled people.
In the United States all that you will need is a high school diploma, a clean criminal background check, and a good credit rating. You will need to contact the Office of Personel Managment. There website can be found on through Homeland Security website.
