Need truthful opinions...?

My mom, dad, and sister were all born in Mexico. All three lived here illegally for some time. My mom and my sister have worked hard during the 25 years they have lived here, more even than some American-born people. I was born here but I find it hard to agree with the "Go back to Mexico" thing because I saw what my mom and my sister went through, and it really isn't that easy. I just would like to know what the issue is with all this stuff. My husband is American and we always get in to long, drawn out discussions because I feel he is attacking my family.

Answer:
I don't agree with the go back to mexio thing either....and I am american all my family was born here. I truly believe that your family works hard. Some people are so quick to judge. I worked in a resturant for many years and watched illegal immagrint bust there a**es for more of a purpose than alot of the american citizens work for. Mostly for a better life for there families either here in america or to send money back home to ther families. not for the new boots or some huge luxurious house or material things, for a better life food on the table and a roof over there families head. Doing jobs that other wont do. Any one reading this would you wash someone elses dirty dishes for minumun wage? clean bathrooms? Why send them back? some would say umemployment rates would go down....but would they, soem people just wouldn't do some jobs. Some Americans would sit home on welfare just to keep from going to wash dishes or clean bathrooms and in my experience illegal immagrants would take what they could get and be happy with it. My best friend just married an illegal immagrent and he works harder than any man I know.(and pays taxes, has healt insurance) trying so hard to do what right for them and now they tell him that he will probably get deported before he become legalized.
As far as your husband you have to make him understand you point and that he married you for who you are despite where or what you come from, that you don't apperciate the way he talks to you about it. like they say if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all.
I just want you to know I wasn't attacking anyone or any persons life styles, I just have my opion....and that is what american is about freedom....of speech and opions.
Good luck with every thing and god bless
I bet they was on welfare too, wasnt they, you poor thang.Sucks to come to America and have to defend yourself dont it?????????
Put your family aside and realize what they did is illegal. if everyone who wanted to come to the US just walked in there would be chaos throughout the country. There are millions of people out there in the world suffering and who do deserve a better life, however to get a better life they still have to follow the law that applies to everyone and become citizens legally.
Hello they came here illegally. they should pay a fine leave the country then apply to get in.
And he probably is. Ask him not to disrespect your family when he does not know what all they have been through. Tell your family how you feel about them saying they should go back to Mexico and how it upsets you.
Well let me rob a bank...build a house with the money...get established in my nice new neighborhood. I am going to send my kids to the new schools that I can afford now and really get involved in my "new" community.

Now...when you find out it was me in 25 years...don't think that you are going to do anything about it...for since that time I have been hard working and a "good citizen".

Get the point?
Well if they are here illegally, they need to go. why didn't they jump on the amnesty train in 1986? Snooze you lose.
If they work hard, don't have any criminal record, pay taxes, speak english, they should be legalized.
The ones that break laws, they should be in jails and then sent to their home countries.
With the young people should be the same, if they study hard and obey the laws...then welcome
This really is a tough issue today... My parents came to this country from Puerto Rico (legally) yet still when it comes to immigration that problem seems to hover all hispanics. It's very bias & people easily jump to judge one another. They came illegally... and that's that. But then again, EVERYONE WAS AN IMMIGRANT AT ONE POINT. OUR ANCESTORS CAME TO THIS COUNTRY!!!! Whoever downrated me just can't accept this fact and is ignorant. Thanks.
Beginning around 1820, people already lucky enough to be living in the US started complaining about "immigrants", and they haven't stopped since. 70 or 80 years ago, people complained about Italian immigration. Before that, it was Chinese and Japanese immigration. Before that, it was the Irish immigrants (mostly because they were under-educated and Catholic)

Odds are that most of the people reading this have ancestors who immigrated to this country within the last 100 years.

Here's the simple fact: We WANT a certain number of "illegal" immigrants in this country because they are a source of cheap labor. That is why it is tolerated. The second that illegal immigrants are no longer an economic necessity, the feds will get tough on them.

Incidentally, when pressed to explain how America became the most powerful nation on Earth, most Historians and Politcal Scientists will say: 1. Immigration 2. Natural Resources 3. Economic Policy... in that order.
Ok, so you got lucky and one question, who paid the hospital bill for you,,,???? I bet we taxpayers did??? And if your so concerned, what have you done to correct this illegal problem???
First of all, if you really want truthful opinions, the you are going to have to curb your feelings. Telling American people that your parents have worked harder than even some "American-born people", is not a great way to ask for opinions. you are going to make some people angry about that. Being American born myself, I can tell you that I had and still to this day have to work very hard to get the things I want to attain to in life so that whole thing about your parents working harder than me, you can just dismiss that thought very quickly....I work very hard for what I get.

Now, the United States does have its laws. It is illegal, as you must know to come into the United States without the proper documentation, otherwise you are an illegal immigrant no matter how hard you may have worked for 25 years, it still does not make it right.

I am not for the whole go back to Mexico theme either but law is what it was. Do think an American person can just waltz into Russia, Australia, or any other country and tell them that I am here to work and here to stay. No we cannot, so the best thing to do is for anyone coming from Mexico or any other country for that matter, is to attain the proper documentation if they wish to come to the US.
The only issue I have with this is, the "illegals" that come into our country collect our welfare checks, get our food stamps, get our medical assistance benefits, not ever having paid one damn dime towards taxes. Because we have feed, clothe, house, and medicate all of them, it does not leave very much for those of us who are legally from the this country. It was like pulling teeth to get assistance when I needed it. I am at least a fourth generation Legal American. I have paid taxes, my father has paid taxes, his father has paid taxes, and so on. Why is it that I have to be put through the damn ringer when I need help, but let an illegal come in, give them a false id and papers WHAM! they get food stamps and a welfare check in the mail.
The problem is that poor people don't make enough money, even if they work hard, to pay for education for thier children and other services through their taxes. Even if they pay taxes, poor people can't and don't pay much. They may work as hard as our own poor, but our own poor are ours. We have agreed to pay for them. We have not agreed to pay for millions of foreign poor who broke our laws to swamp our children's schools and ruin our own children's education. We do take some poor, unlike some countries (Mexico being a good example.) However, while unlike Mexico we pay for our own people, we aren't willing to take on the poor of other countries, above limits we set.

Our schools and hospitals are swamped and failing in areas where illegal immigrants concentrate.

Why is that so hard to understand?
Don't let the haters discourage you. There is more going on than they can comprehend. Their doomed, despicable concept of a "guest worker program" has been in place too long and has destroyed the social fabric of many communities. Those who subscribe to it criminally invite and hire undocumented Mexican labor in order to avoid paying Americans a legal and decent wage. They pay them and work them like slaves and they deduct taxes and pocket the money for themselves, that is, they steal from the U.S. taxpayer. THEN, they deny the children of those workers equal access to an education. And, later, as their communities begin to fail and collapse under the stupidity and incompetence of their intolerance and discrimination and morally corrupt social "planning", the best they can come up with to "fix" their fouled up mess is to take Mexicans out into the desert and shoot them. AND, they vote Presidents into office who promise to give states more "rights" back. Intolerance, conservatism, racism and moral morbidity breeds a level of stupidity in people that leads them to be unable to comprehend that what "states rights" REALLY means is state governments, not the national government or taxpayer, get to pay the bill for their own states' problems. So, the morons who wanted to weaken the federal government are now all whiny about the federal government not footing the bill for state problems. AND, they rally behind leaders like Bush who promise them border fences and who then absolutely ignore to fulfill their "promise" to FUND the border fence. And, as for the border patrol, they, too must comply with the laws of this land, not the law of the jungle. Any one promoting the law of the jungle is anti-American. All borders are being eliminated. If your a Mexican in America, clearly you don't belong. If your a Black in America, clearly you don't belong. If your an Indian from India living anywhere other than India, you don't belong......IF YOUR WHITE LIVING IN AFRICA,CLEARLY YOUR NOT AFRICAN AND YOU DONT BELONG! The world in overpopulated, and were all getting territorial. I wish EVERYONE would **** off back to where they,or their parents,or their grandparents came from,,,cause clearly you don't belong! The truth hurts!
Plain and simple dear. YOUR PARENTS ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS. THEY NEED TO BE DEPORTED. REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN HERE THEY ARE STILL ILLEGAL. Simple huh?
I think you should listen to your heart, many people think that illegal-immigrants just come here to be criminals and that isn't it. It's very hard to come here legally and countless don't understand the struggle, they think it's the easy way but its the survival way. Im an immigrant and I know the struggles of it, I came when I was 4 with my mother and sister to be with my dad because I only had a couple opportunities to see him every year. We stayed so we became illegal however my family always worked, we never asked money from the government (not that we could) {{OH YEAH PEOPLE GET THAT STRAIGHT, IF YOU'RE ILLEGAL YOU CAN'T GET MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT SO STOP YOU BS IN THAT}} my sister and me have had very good grades, yet we're called criminals every day. My dad studied so hard to become a citizen and then tried to help us but immigration found a problem. My mom had tried to come here 30 years ago through the border and she was now a felon. They're trying to take her. I'm 15 years old and I have 'failed to show I really need my mother'. We have gone through so many things for just being immigrants and have acted much better than many USA-born citizens and all to be called a criminal?? How could somebody look at me in my eyes and tell me that? I didn't ask to come here yet I did want to be with my dad. You can consider other people's opinions, but in the end only you truly know the struggle of your family and only you know if they deserve to be looked down at. Me, personally, I don't think so. And I do consider their point of view, but I consider mine the most because I went through it and it's not an easy life. But in the end, we didn't come here to listen to other people talk about us, we came here to make our family exceed and we will make it. I will be a lawyer when I grow up and help other immigrant families, illegal or not, I know I'm not a criminal and I know my family isn't either and it isn't fair to be looked at worse than a murderer. I'm proud of your family because they have worked hard so you could have better opportunities as well. He might not be attacking your family personally but that is his point of view just like you have yours but I guess just listen to what you think is right.
