Well, first off, it's not the "US" - it's one pizza chain that is deciding to accept pesos. That is their business and I think it's ridiculous.
Usually along the border towns their currency is ususally accepted. But if you go to a state in the middle of the US, you woul dhave a problem. Along the border, the Mexican or Canadian money can be exchange pretty easily. Take Wal-mart for example, they will take pesos and Canadian money, so long as people buy their stuff, they will sell it and exchange the money later.

I have no problem with it as long as they also accept U.S. currency. We accept Canadian money near the border with Canada and Canada accepts our money there, so what. Illegal immigration is the issue not the money legal immigrants might spend here as they visit USA and return to their homes in Mexico.

If business wants to accept pesos so what, When I was station in Germany, they accept dollars. To your surprise alot of US Northern States accept Canadian Dollars, its depends on the business or owner. Businesses pays lower rate than bank. My father-owner of small tourist resort in Manzanillo, Mexico, He accepts any forms of money it is good business, specially if you cater to tourists. GET A GRIP
