In uk, what is a foreign national please? im asking an honest question not a racist or anti anyone question?
Answer:
I would say that a foreign national is anyone who is a citizen of another country. They may be living here temporarily, on a student visa for example, or permanently, but not have got UK citizenship. Quite often, people don't want to give up citizenship of their own country, and some countries don't allow dual citizenship, although the UK does.
Someone who does not have British nationality.
A foreign national is a person present in a country who does not currently have the right to permanent residency of that country.
Isn't it just someone who wasn't born here but has been given British National status i.e they can have a british passport.
I think its quite hard to get you have to fill out a form but they do have it in about 25 different languages. Its the least we can do.
I mean we have so much land and there loads of spare houses going we might aswell let everybody in. Seriously look at the map Britain is massive its absolutely huge gargantuan even.
It is someone that is living and working in the UK, legally. But, has say, American citizenship.
It is person like me who does not have a British passport. How is this racist question?
To me it is merely factual.
I AM NOT POSITIVE BUT A PERSON IN A LAND PART OF THE UK BUT NOT THE BRITISH MAINLAND
A person who is not a UK citizen or permanent resident...
Well most of the people have said this - Any one who doesn't have british nationality is not British. This answer is quite simple and logical.
But when it comes to deciding the nationality, place of birth and also Nationality of Parents play a very big role.
Other very important thing is that Passports usually DO NOT necessarily show the correct nationality of a person. For example Child born to parents who do not have British Passport but have Indefinite leave to remain /settle in UK can be a foreign national by virtue of his birth registration to that foriegn country BUT he is a British National by BIRTH and he can claim that at any time of this life.
Even though passports do not necessarily show the correct nationality of a person on occassions, they are considered to be the best possible indicator of holders nationality around the world.
So technically speaking British does not mean any one who has a british passport or for that matter nationality(becoz a person could be registered as a foriegn national) . British means that any one who can claim to be a British National at any time in his life.
So I would say that any person who cannot claim British Nationality is a Foriegner in this Land.
Hope this answers your question.
Regards
A foreign national is someone who lives here that doesn't have citizenship, many are good people, just the racist, small minded, bigoted farts like macon who should feck off home.
Before you judge, read some of the absolute garbage he posts in his Q&A, come on, is he real?
Have you noticed that macan has made all his questions and answers private? It's because he is inciting racial hatred and terrorism, claiming his belief in Islam is the only belief and all believers that don't follow his belief are 'peasants' and should be killed.
REPORT HIM, HE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GLORIFY TERRORISM AND KILLING PEOPLE ON THIS SITE.
