Can I get a Washington state driver's license with a valid Ontario license?
Answer:
Not quite sure but I had to take the written test only. They stopped the driving test around 1991 or maybe it was 1990 I don't really remember just had to show a valid drivers license from another state. You might look up web sites on Washington state. The test now is done on a computer. I can't remember how many times a person can request a different question if they are unsure of the answer. Really should look up Washington State department of licensing for a better answer.
I believe you would need to take the written test only.
and show current residency
When I moved to BC, my Oregon license was all I needed not to have to take either the written or road test. And BC is tough to get a license in. :)
Washington should be a piece of cake, I would expect. They may want you to take the written test, tho.
Just look out for the aggressive patrol units who try to sucker you into doing something ticketable... They drive just about everything, and their ethics are questionable at best...
And the laser cops. I hadn't had a ticket in 8 years when I moved to the Great NorthWet [sic]...
