Can I use a US work permit/Social Security card even though I have divorced my US Citizen husband?
Answer:
Work permit cannot be used as entrance document. You should have Advanced parole.
So the answer is no, Yuo cannoit reenter with EAD.
I'm no immigration expert, but I have been thoroughly researching US immigration law recently in order to get my wife a visa.
I would answer no to your question. US homeland security has become extremely rigid the last few years about visas granted via marriage, and since you are now divorced, I would imagine your right to work would be revoked.
I also found out the hard way that once a non-American leaves the US, even if they are still married to an American citizen, it can be extremely difficult to get the back into the US legally, particulary with the right to work. We are looking at a minimum of 3-4 year wait right now to get my wife over here, and it could be as long as decades. Because of this, I am considering going back to her country to live, even though the economy there is horrible.
No you can not. Your Employment Authorization Document became invalid when you abandoned your Adjustment of Status application to return to the UK.
I do not think is possible since you left the country and divorced USCIS would terminate your privilege to work.
No!!, could you imagine the riches the immigration and divorce liars, oops, I mean lawyers, could rake in if this were possible.
Go to the web site http://www.uscis.gov.
I believe if your divorced was due to abuse you could have stayed in the US. You need a travel permit and green card to enter the US, a work permit is not enough.
maybe you can but you will be ask where is your husband
Yes, but if you want to stay you'll have to start from scatch. One year of marriage to a US citizen is not enough to get permanent resident status on that basis.
