How and where does one get a US passport?
Answer:
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passpor... tells you what you need to do.
Get two passport sized photos taken, fill out the application (form DS-11,) and take the photos and the form to a passport acceptance facility (usually a post office, but there may be others near you) where you provide proof of US citizenship (birth certificate, US passport, naturalization certificate) and proof of identity (driver's license, US Passport, naturalization certificates, Government or Military issued ID.) They'll ask a few questions, you'll sign the papers, and pay the fees (it was a total of $97 when I renewed mine last year-$30 acceptance fee to the post office, and $67 for the actual passport, which went to the State Department.)
The passport was sent to me about six weeks later.
Postoffice,...they even take pics now
easy call this number and you will be way on to the US 07854240672
go to your post office for a passport application. the required documents are listed.
In the place where I live, we get them at the post office. There's an extra room just for passports and the like. It's been a few years since I've gotten one, but I remember the price being something like $150. I hope I'm wrong and that it's cheaper than that, but that's my memory.
it's all here

now that you need one for Bermuda, etc, lots more people are applying, and apparently the normal 6-8 week wait has gone up to 10 weeks...unless you pay extra for priority processing
At the post office...you can get forms there.
