Going about: Moving From England to America ? What is needed?

You can get a visa if you have skills (there are special visas to make up shortage skills, or to get highly skilled people into the country). Or if you marry an American you can fill out some forms. (most likely cost you about 300 pounds, more if you need help filling them in)
You can always do something like Camp America or become a nanny to get a temporary work permit. You can also get a student visa if you enroll in a community college (or a real university, but community college is much cheaper).
if you agree to invest over 500,000 dollars, you can get another kind of visa.
It's much easier to do things the other way round. America has a limit on Brits coming to the US on a regular visa.
yes, you will need some money. best if you have it without depending on the lottery.

I'll say work on your accent as well. Americans are rather xenophobic against all other cultures. Try to imitate them and mimetize if possible.
Why not moving to Canada rather? It's closer to Brit culture and have free health care...

Stay on the right side of....pretty much everything. Watch out for traffic coming from the opposite direction as it would in England :-)

As soon as you get over there you will need some sort of weapon to protect yourself, preferable a gun : P
Unfortunately, England has too many people coming here to be in the diversity lottery (Northern Ireland is in but the rest of the UK is out.)

Americans are much more fond of a British accent than the British are of an American accent. Americans consider a British accent of any sort at all high-class. Before you go, consider that health care in America is unbelievably expensive and the government is no help.
