How can I move to the USA?

I am currently working in London and desperately want to move to NYC. What is the best way of doing this? I have a brother who has lived there for 11 years and has a green card and I work for a US investment bank (moving through work is v difficult?)....any ideas? I know it's a tough thing to do and I don't really fancy going down the green card lottery route

Answer:
sneek in
BAD IDEA!!! STAY In THE UK! BELIEVE ME YOU DO NOT WANT TO COME HERE, MATE!!!!!!!
Ask your brother!
Go home! we're not taking new comers
I am not sure if you have ever been to New York City but it is a cesspool. I have been to London and maybe you like the big city life.
try the lottery -- you may get lucky. but since you are from the UK, the number of allocations may be low.

try to go with the work route and see if you can come in with a bank here that will do you paperwork, etc.
Just walk across the border as everyone else does and we will even support you as we do the others, No problem. We have millions....
Its virtually impossible unless you are sponsored by some employer over there. Does your brother know anyone that could sponsor you? My friend moved to San Francisco last year, one of his friends had opened up a business over there and managed to get sponsorship from him.
join the army,or hijack a plane.
watch this and realise it is a bad move :http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doci...

other than that a friend of mine has familly out there and through being sponsored by this familly member he would have had to wate 10 years to qualify , he is fairly wealthy yet this doesnt make any difference.
change your name to sanchez and pretend you are mexican...worked for me
First of all I would suggest that you go there for a couple of weeks to see how things are going. If you realy like it there ask from the company you are currently working for a transfer to USA, contact the US embassy in London to make the appropriate procedures. A good idea is to enter the lottery but you mentioned you dont want to. Ask for more info to the US embassy. Therefore I would not suggest to you to go because it's worse than here. Good Luck
be sure you have a passport maybe you can come here on a school visa
Walking is a bit tough - can recommend a ship or plane.
if you're british the green card lottery is closed to you anyway...

read the official government info...
