Working in the US and teaching at a community college?

I want to apply for a teaching position at a community college in the US, but I am a Canadian citizen who lives in Canada. I have a PhD and meet all the requirements for the jobs I have looked at. Do you think they are aware that I can get a TN Visa easily (a visa for Canadians who have certain occupations, like college instructor, that legally allows them to live and work in the US)? Or will they not even consider my application because I am a non-US citizen?

Answer:
Most of community colleges are under each local government, so I am sure each county has different policy.
In most case, they will consider anybody meet all the requirements and experience with great resume.
If they think you are the person who can help their school, they can even sponsor you to get the visa. I went state university, and one of my professor was Indian and other was middle easterner. I think it's matter of finding school that need of teachers.
I dont have that information at this time but I do have the means to ask the President of my college to see what she says. I'll email you about it when I get the chance.
Yes, please. we hurt for good teachers here, esp. at institutions of higher learning. Apply.
They will consider it. I think especially with a PHD. I wish we had more PHDs coming from othe rcountries.
