Well...unfortunately that's America now. We cater to the illegal..and prosecute the good doers who WE hire to protect us. I just don't understand it. An agent or sheriff gets sent to jail for protecting himself and/or our country from illegal drug smugglers and gets put in prison. But if you or I go near a Army base without permission. WE could be shot first and ask questions later. So what is that telling you? They are more concerned about us driving to close to an army base than illegal immigrants smuggling drugs into our country and causing trouble. America caters to much to illegals. I need to become an illegal alien so I can start living better myself. No taxes...free lawyers, smuggling drugs to little kids, free health care....it's sounding more and more like that is the better way to go. Yo quiero taco bell !!!
And for Rachel B. did you know that illegal aliens can ask to be deported and get it so they don't face crimes. there was one recently that was caught for rape and did that and was deported to Mexico. So...basically what you telling me is that If an illegal alien came into our country.... and sold your kids drugs...or something horrible like that..then was deported cause he asked for it so he wouldn't get in trouble....you would be all for it? Because it's the HUMANE thing to do?? I'm sorry. But it's people like you who are taking this country to a new low feeling that we should give everyone a break who is caught here RED handed to harm our kids. I do not hate you. It's a very messed up world we live in nowadays.
When dealing with our border, we have to make sure that our border agents are diplomatic. We cannot bring physical harm to others, regardless of their legal status. It's not just the border patrol that is held to this high standard, it's every officer that represents our state or country. Is it that you feel illegals can be mistreated? Every individual that steps foot on American soil has rights. That person has the right to be treated humanely. I feel badly for our agents, but maybe they need better training before they are at the border protecting our country. I completely agree that we should have the military at the border, not just border patrol agents. I think the military would have handled this situation differently. I will pray for Deputy Sheriff Guillermo F. Hernandez and the injured individuals.

If criminals are being released because they are illegal, then there is something wrong with out laws. You are absolutely mistaken, my sister's friend got caught with drugs, was illegal and she had to serve time in US jail to pay for her crime of possession and illegal status, after 6 months she was released to South America (Peru). You may be dealing with unscrupoulous agents that may be getting paid off to release these individuals, that certainly happens a lot. I do not believe in catering to drug dealers of any ethnic group, get that straight. But we cannot go out and shoot to kill, regardless of legal status. Don't worry so much about illegals selling drugs, you have more than enough legal Americans doing it already. They are in your neighborhood right now. Mid-west in this country to be more exact, that's where you find the most meth labs. It's people like you that throughout time are always opposing immigration one way or another, and will point negative points only, and you have ignorant, narrow minded individuals that follow. Fortunately, educated America does not feel that way. Immigration seriously needs to be reformed. I do not expect to agree with you. I am a socialist, I believe in a diverse country. We need change.

Why did the Rocksprings sheriff call the Mexican consulate? What gives the Mexican consulate the right to contact OUR FBI? What gives illegal invaders ANY RIGHTS AT ALL?

Mexico now dictates how we run our side of the border. If this is not recognized as a declaration of war by our so-called government, then it should be recognized as such by our citizens. And we should recognize that this administratino is deliberately letting Mexico win.
An American law enforcement officer now faces prison because he attempted to detain a vehicle that tried to run him over, i.e., to defend himself and to enforce the law. If these persons in the vehicle had been any but Mexican illegals, he would not be facing prosecution. Period.
Johnny Sutton cannot be seen as anything but an agent of the Mexican government in its war against and invasion of the U.S.A.

The U.S. Attorney, appointed by BUSH, has the discretion to decide whether or not to bring a case.
OBVIOUSLY, the decision to bring these cases and push for MAX sentences is meant to send a message FROM THE WHITE HOUSE to all other border patrol officers

It does seem like one. I am very interested in what is going on, higher up in the border patrol in that sector.
Since the Judiciary Committee is instigating an investigation of the other case, I hope they will be looking into this one, as well. The PATTERN is what is important, since that deters other border patrol from doing their job as well.
