Impossible, although it would work in a perfect world there's no way it can work now. Without a fence we'd have to go on the honor system and god knows it didn't work he first time
It is possible. We need border security and a fence could help as a deterrent also.
How about we build a fence and then put the military on the border to gaurd it. If we put a soldier every 1/2 mile we could easily cover the entire border with a small portion of the military.

Every Country that I know of 'secures' their borders. Bush signed into law last fall - 840 miles of fence. Where's the Fence? Put up the Fence Now. Legal Aliens will come thru the 'legal' channels. Illegals will ***** and complain.

Dig a canal along the border. Take the dirt to New Orleans to build the levies. Then take alligators from the everglades (which are drying up) and put them in the canal. Any one caught poaching the alligators is shot on sight.
Sure it's possible. All we need is a immigration law with teeth and politicians with balls.
Man power is a problem and I'm not sure the tax payers would vote anyone in that wanted to spend that much on border security.
It is possible, but it would be an unrealistic solution.
The best way to slow illegal immigration is to make Mexico a better place to live, so there would be less of an incentive to come here. Why risk a border crossing and long desert treks when you have jobs waiting for you at home? We don't have a problem with Canadians "stealing all the jobs".

i think there should be something done. not because we don't want them, but because it is dangerous. many people have died trying to come to the u.s. then they would come to the u.s legally. i really don't think that a fence or a ditch will work. somehow they will find a way to get in. maybe they should bring all the soldiers from irak to protect america's borders rather irak. i mean no disrespect, they should protect us here in the u.s. where they would be safer.
