I think the law is only in effect if they are given amnesty. Anyway it is its simply wrong.They will combine the work credits in their home nation with at least 18 months of work here in the USA.And they get it only if they are granted amnesty.Another reason against amnesty for illegal aliens.Legal Americans must work 10 years for the same benefits.

Isn't Social Security in the constitution? It is here in Finland, and it doesn't state that one have to be a legal resident/citizen to have a right to a minimum living standard.
Of course, here convicts are allowed to vote too, so it figures. ;)

Where did you get your information? You can't collect social security unless you've paid into it for a few years. Even if you're a natural citizen.

i have a friend that's a veteran and he cant get any benefits but when he walkes into the food stamps office there giving Hispanics that cant even speak English food stamps left and right people wonder why social security isn't working its bec there are less people paying into it then receiving it there is no way a Mexican should get it bec they were in Mexico there whole life not paying into social security of even paying u.s. taxes
No. AND if you are not aware immigrants and I'm talking all who come here and work legally never pay into Social Security. Retire here in the States and then move to another country i.e. Canada, phillipines and collect social security. Look that one up bud.
