Anyone knows...? Can you be able to check immigration papers after in illegal has been hire ?

Note! This illegal was hire many years ago? Is any law that would protect them for me to check the papers. Someone told me I can't check. For me to do so, I have to fire this person them re-hire and check. Well the thing is I need to know if is any law that state that I can't check worker immigration papers after hire.

You need to have an I-9 form on file for every employee. If you don't have one then you can be fined. When the employee fills one out they have to show proof that they can work legally in this county.

Don't ask for immigration paper. Just ask for two form of ID. Make copies of them and keep them with I-9 form . This is not just legal, but it's requirement by the Law.
