yes they should, its because if them i can't find a decent paid job,becasuse employers would rather pay polish workers less than the mimimum wage. I would go 2 steps beyond that, i'd kick them all back to where they came from and I would impose a points sytem like they do in Austraila.

slavery was abolished in the 18th century.we have now resurrected it by bringing these people over here to work for low wages and to live in squalor.you cannot blame the people only the companies who employ them and the govt for allowing them to.

We don't need them, but if they can bring something to the economy, then let them come. It's the others, the freeloaders, that tend to flood the country, more than the genuine hard working families, & they make it look like we're a soft touch.
I think we need to be stricter about who gets what, but thats about it. I say this as a good friend of mine is an immigrant. she came here from hungary 11 years ago with her then 2 small children. Apart from her first month or so here shes not claimed a penny from the state, she has a council house but pays her rent etc, n her husband n she work extremely hard for all they have. the home office have still not said she can permanently stay.
on the other hand, a family in my block of flats are from albania, they work, claim benefits, are sending money home to their country n generally lyin n scrounging their way into thousands! theyve been given citizenship and passports! the wife hasnt even botherd to learn english..theyre the sort of people who need to be stopped.
If they were genuine they are moe than welcome and we are proud as nation to give them refuge
Britain already accepts fewer asylum-seekers than many other countries. Some answerers are confusing migrant workers with asylum-seekers, well some just hate all foreigners no matter what.

NO! Absolutely not. There's too many people of all creeds and colours on this tiny island. That's why there's so few resources, long queues for hospital treatment, crowded transport etc etc. Too many people. Far too many.
I have a good friend who escaped from the Bosnian war with the help of the Red Cross. She lost her husband there and was in fear of her life and those of her children. Her two children are now at university and are preparing to participate fully as members of British society, paying tax and working hard to benefit others. How can you possibly say that it was wrong for her to be rescued from a dreadful and life threatening situation?

I am a foreigner myself but since day one I stepped in London I worked and paid taxes, I never claimed any benefits and I am paying for all the lazy people that come in this country for a free ride. The worse I have seen is perfectly healthy people in the early twenties that prefer working part time because is more convenient, because they can get help with the rent and god knows what else. It is time to say stop to this. If you want to come here to work, then you are welcome otherwise pack your bags, I have enough of paying for you to sit at home doing nothing the all day. Enough is enough.
It's not a case of whether "we need them", more a case of "they need us". The only just way of stopping the passage of asylum seekers is for our government to stop sticking their fingers in those countries governmental pies.
No, maybe there are genuine asylum seekers but ive personally had enough. And i feel sorry for the spanish and Italians. There seems to be mass exodus from africa into europe. Throughout history europe has been doing very well for itself and its people (except a few disagreements in the first half of the 20th century) but the standard of living is a result of our ablility to provide for our people. The africans however do not have this ability, so they see what we have and they want it. Maybe they were content with their way of life but with the world becoming smaller and the global mass media they have seen glimpses of the compartive wealth that we have in europe. Its not going to get any better.
The term 'Asylum Seeker' is pejorative because so many are obviously bogus. Sure they are being persecuted in their home countries, but that is because they are criminals and when they continue their criminal activities in this country they are persecuted by the police. If we deported all immigrants who have committed crimes and refused asylum to criminals then perhaps we might be a little more sympathetic.

do we want dumn BNP racists? errr....NO! england is busy getting foriegn doctors (just one example) to move over so why would ongoing immigration stop when the country benefits from it? though to be honest why anyone would want to be living in the UK at tho mo is beyond me. the taxes are ridiculously high, the jobs are not always that well paid and its slowly being taken over by chavs....maybe thats something to be more bothered about. No the can all stay where they are, abandoning their home will just prolong the strife the areas they are leaving are in.
What people forget is that this land is an Island, NO NO NO more immigrants full stop,they are spongers,lazy,just after a free pound,live off the state and laugh at the British run them down,and then try to blow them sky high,all immigrants are economic migrants,seeking handouts.
