Want to get married in London...?

I am an american citizen, and the guy I want to marry is from Nigeria..but we want to get married in London, we are not citizens of the UK, so is it possible that we could marry there, he is a nigerian citizen. what steps do we need to take.

It is possible, but unless you both already have indefinite leave to remain, expensive and bureaucratic, due to paranoia about people marrying in order to get status in the UK. You both need to be here on visas with more than three months left on them, and you each need to apply for a certificate, which will cost each of you £135. If you are refused, they will not refund you the money!

Bizarrely, the rules do not apply if you get married in an Anglican church, according to the website, but I am almost certain that this has been changed. Check with a Citizens Advice Bureau.

FYI: Anybody can be married anywhere, in Court, if u entered that country Legally, and have ur Proper ids.
