I'm 55 years old, speak no english, have a 2nd grade education, immigrant in the USA?
What options do I have at this time in my life to bring income. I'm too old to work in the field picking fruits and vegatables. I injured my leg in a sawmill and can no longer work on my feet. I speak very little English, I'm 55 years old, my parents only kept me in school until the second grade (because they couldn't afford it for me).
I get 200 dollars a month from social security. What are my options at this point?

Have your children support you so you don't keep draining this country of welfare money that should be spent on some single mom who is a citizen here. Learn to speak english and make all your children learn it and apply for citizenship so at least they can become legal and pay taxes like the rest of us.

Your children can contribute to your income. It is not too late to learn how to read and write. Go to a night school that heps illiterates.

Your father has no options in this country if he can't do physical labor and has no education. Enroll him in an adult education program and teach him English, then he has a lot more options.

Take some classes get integrated at a community collage or vote-ch and go to a hospital lord knows you get free medical anyway...

You worked in a saw mill and quit that to pick fruit and veggies? Or, did you pick first then go to the saw mill? If you're collecting government money, you're doing better than some Americans that are truly disabled. Why haven't you learned English? There's no excuse for that. We Americans hand you the silver platter. You can own a company in American and not pay taxes for 5 years, then pass it on to someone else in your family so they won't have to pay taxes for another five years. If you haven't figured that out, you aren't telling someone the truth. And, IF you injured your leg in a sawmill, you got compensation. Your best option is to head back to where you came from. If your "son" can afford a computer and the internet, he needs to pay for your airfare home.
If you are an 'immigrant' are you a legal citizen? If you are legal you should be able to get disability. you already get SS. Did you get it with your own SSN or did you use a 'stolen' one? Your children should be capable of helping you. If you are illegal you would be better off going back to your home country and getting help there or entering the USA legally before we deport you.
acquire a skill.... start with the language. Then maybe something you can do sitting on your butt, answering a telephone maybe?

I don't think migrating to the US is a good option.
If you have kids who are American citizens and who can support you financially, you won't have a lot of problems living in the US. But if you want to live in the US without anybody's support, I just don't think that you will survive in this country.
In this country, education is the key to get a high paying job. If people don't have a good edcutaion, they have a high possibility of getting a low paying job. And ususally low paying jobs are physical works so I just don't think that you can do the kind of job.
Anyway, if you have kids who are American citizens and who can support you, migrating to this country is ok. But if you don't have the kind of kids, it's better for you to stay where you are.
