After my husband becomes a US citizen, will he have to pay child support?

My husband is currently in the process of becoming a US citizen. He has a child still living in Honduras, and is not currently paying child support but does send money and other things periodically. Will him not paying child support hurt his chances of becoming a citizen? Will he have to pay child support when he does become a citizen?

Answer:
Yes to both questions.
Yes.
Sorry, the cash cow has died.
is there a order for him to pay Child Support for his Child!!!
yes on both questions, it will effect or hurt him in becoming a U.S citizen?
yes to both ??? he might wanna have a clean record otherwise he wont get citizenship
Yes, and since it is his child you would think that he would willingly pay child support EVERY time he gets paid. Just because he becomes a citizen does NOT mean he can STOP paying for his child. That child is depending on him I am sure.
If the woman files papers with the courts they will order him to pay child support.
Becoming a citizen or not he should be paying child support anyway, thats his kid, he helped make and I don't know how or why he met you (maybe for papers), be he needs to support his kid or kids and that should not even be an issue.
He'd have to pay now if the courts knew about it. If the kid's mother had a court order, they'd likely garnish his wages. And yes, he'd have to pay then, also. It is being a father, not being a citizen, that is the root of that responsibility.
i hope so ...because its his kid
when he applies to be a citizen have him forget he has a kid
