I have dead great grandparents who were born in Fance and I would like to know if I can obtain citizenship and if so how would I go about doing so?
Answer:
Contact the French Embassy and get an application. I know you can apply for British citizenship if you have a British grandparent and will have no problem obtaining a UK passport unless you are an "undesirable" (i.e. a criminal).
It is much more difficult to get a French passport...will take you at least a year, and reams of form-filling. Also, you must get all your documents professionally translated into French (costs a fortune!).
I wish you GOOD LUCK with that. You ll need it dude. Yep ;)!
