Why would people be upset about the Toys-r-us contest that took place recently?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070106/ap_o...
I mean come on people, this was an ILLEGAL immigrant trying to take 25000.00 from a good, American company.
NO way in hell should that ever happen.
It would be like rewarding criminal activity.
Answer:
Yeah people are being stupid. The TERMS OF AGREEMENT state that the mother had to be an American citizen. Rules are rules people...
I think its bigited on toys r us's part. Who cares if shes an illegal, shes not taking money out of your pocket. She is a fellow human being for christs sake, have some compassion. It sounds like Toys r us is just looking for a way out.
it is an open and shut case. if they said contest open to US residents only, that is all the proof needed for toys-r-us to win.
edit. i m smokin. how are they looking for a way out? they paid the money/awarded the prize.
These bleeding heart libs seem to get their feathers ruffled over everything ,except illegal aliens.I'm beginning to think that they might be illegal scum.
The Wayne, N.J.-based company had said the prize would go to the first American baby born in 2007.
Although promotional materials called for "all expectant New Year's mothers" to apply for the contest, Waugh said eligibility rules required babies' mothers to be legal residents. Many sweepstakes have such requirements, Waugh said.
Although Yuki was born an American citizen, Waugh said the contest administrator was told that Yuki's mother "was not a legal resident of the United States."
Attempts to reach Yuki's parents, Yan Zhu Liu and Han Lin, 22, for comment were unsuccessful early Saturday. Their immigration status was not clear.
The prize went instead to runner-up Jayden Swain, born 19 seconds after midnight at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
I'm proud of them,I'm certainly not upset.
I'm looking at going to Toys R Us and spending some money.I can give the toys to the Salvation Army .I am impressed that they stuck to the rules.Good for TOYS R US.
I completely agree with Toys R Us. They should have read the terms before trying to win the contest
Because people are over-sensitive and stupid. That is an ignorant answer, yes.
But its true. I can't go much further in to detail about that.
You never see a non-white child win something in this godforsaken sh-thole of a country.
there is no way in h_ _ _ she should be getting that money - we give illegals to many benefits for breaking our laws - the first one is crossing the borders - how about we give her some jail time for trying to cheat Toys-R-Us and coming into the country without the proper paper work
The terms of the contest were made clear. There should be no question. Toys R Us was correct.
Did the terms say "must be a US resident" or did they say "must be a US citizen"? If it's the first, then they should get the money, if not than they shouldn't get the money. Simple as that.
Hooray for Toys R Us. I hope they stick to their guns and don't give the illegals something they don't deserve. Maybe they didn't understand the part about being "LEGAL" in the rules. That's just tough bananas!!!!
BTW, "Pop D" it did say "legal resident." However, since they are not a "legal resident" why should they get the money? You were flat WRONG when you said they should.
UntilAmericans demand resolution to illegals they will take more and more, our government dont seem to care,it is up to American citizens to take control, please check out our yahoogroup and join us for ideas and information http://groups.yahoo.com/group/americanci...
I think this is absolutely ridiculous! It says that the mother must be a legal resident and she wasn't. I don't get what is so hard to understand about that. Toys R Us did the right thing and awarded it to someone that actually followed the rules.
They have limits everywhere. Senior citizens only, college students only, students only, non-smokers only, singles only, Purchase required, no purchase required. Limited time offer, restrictions apply......I mean please...they could have a "diaper derby" in which retirees in "depends" could compete with toddlers because of loopholes in the rules!
